Following its US$52 million Series B in May 2020, Symend, a leading digital engagement platform that leverages behavioral science and data-driven insights to enable clients to address past-due debts, announced a US$43 million extension.
With the help of a group of investors led by global technology venture firm Inovia Capital, Symend has now received over US$100 million in investment overall as per lundentechcrunch. Dennis Kavelman, Partner at Inovia Capital, says, “We are huge believers in Symend’s aim to deliver sustainable value to organizations by helping their customers avoid collections.” Because it blends behavioral science and data science to create a customized strategy for each consumer, its method is unique and successful. With this additional investment, Symend is well-funded to carry out its plan of expanding internationally and collaborating with major companies across several industries. Kavelman is now a board of directors of Symend and a previous executive at RIM (Blackberry).
In 2020, Symend gained two new board members: Matthew J. Schiltz, a former CEO of Conga and DocuSign, and John Connors, Managing Partner at Ignition Partners and a former Microsoft executive. Along with Eric Updyke, CEO of Spirent Communications, and Maor Amar, Managing Partner of Impression Ventures, Connors and Schiltz joined the board.
The relationship-based strategy used by Symend enables businesses to respond to the shifting demands of their clients. It improves customer happiness, reduces operational expenses, and assists in resolving past-due accounts before they are collected.
The 2016-founded Symend platform was created specifically to support large, sophisticated international companies in the media, utilities, financial services, and telecommunications sectors. Privately held Symend has activities in Canada, the United States, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific. Its head office is in Calgary.
